This is the best Apple cider margarita and it will be a favorite during the Fall season and even the holidays! With Fresh Apple Cider, Cointreau and Añejo Tequila is the prefect fall cocktail.
How do you like them Apples?
Me personally? In a cocktail.
Autumn and Apples go together like PB & J.
While everybody is busy baking pies - don't misinterpret I DO love Apple pie, but I spent October trying cocktails recipes.
So after trying different spirits, I wasn't sold on any of the final cocktails - but I drank them all.
All in the name of research.
I moved a year ago to Washington state, who produces 42% of the apples grown in the Unites States.
In 1989, Washington State appointed the apple as the official state fruit.
Many varieties of apple are grown in Washington state including Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith, Braeburn, Jonagold, Pink Lady, and Cameo.
Here are some of my favorite recipes with Apple Cider: Apple Fig Aider Margarita Cocktail and Apple Cider Spice Cake.
Making the best Apple Cider Margarita
So like with every good margarita, you will need quality and freshest ingredients.
As I mentioned before, it took me a few tries to find the best combination for this cocktail.
The semi sweetness of the apple cider, the citrus of the Cointreau and the warmth of the Añejo Tequila gives you all the fall feels.
Lets get to it:
Ingredients to make the Apple Cider Margarita
**See the Recipe Card Below for complete measurements**
Apple cider - I found that using fresh cider worked great and the end result was fantastic.
Tequila or Mezcal - I used both and while Mezcal is always my favorite, it overpowered the flavor of the cocktail. So I used Hornitos Tequila Añejo, it gave the perfect warmth to the final cocktail.
Orange Liqueur or Triple Sec - In any other cocktails I'd use triple sec but for this recipe I used Cointreau and it paired perfect with the tequila and apple cider.
Apple Slices soaked in Cointreau - This is one of the best things you can do for your cocktails. Not only prevents the apple from turning brown but apples infused in liqueur, what is not to love?
Brown sugar & Cinnamon - Most people use white sugar and cinnamon for the rim but I love when the sugar melts and it creates this caramel flavor with the cinnamon. You can always use what you like for the rim. But this gives the cocktail the umpff it needs!
Mixology in the Apple Cider Margarita
